Installing vCenter Update Manager fails with the Error Code 25085

Scenario
While re-configuring (can also be during re-installing or fresh installation) VMWare Update Manager fails with the following error:
Error 25085. Setup failed to register VMware vSphere Update Manager extension to VMware vCenter Server: <vCenter server IP address or FQDN>

 Cause
The username (vsphere.local\administrator) used in the previous screen to configure update manager did not had sufficient permission. The log will indicate (%temp%) C:\Users\pushpal.ray\AppData\Local\Temp\2:

Resolution
This issue occurs if the user account that you use to install Update Manager does not have the Register Extension privilege assigned in vCenter Server. Click OK on the error window, then click Back. Add Register Extension role to the vsphere.local\Administrator and then rerun UM. As per the VMware KB 1036055  : 
To resolve this issue, ensure that the Register Extension privilege is assigned to the user account that you use to install Update Manager.
 
To add the Register Extension  privilege to the user account:
Open the vSphere Client connection to vCenter Server.
Click Home.
Under the Administration section, click Roles.
Right-click the role assigned to the user account and click Edit Role.
Expand the Extension privilege.
Select the Register Extension privilege.
Click OK.
